Computer Performance – How to Speed Up Windows XP for Free

Before you go out and download some questionable product to speed-up your computer that you heard about from a TV or Radio commercial, why not try using a few tools already built-in to Windows first. You could do  what is called a Selective Startup and turn-off some visual effects (your probably won’t notice the loss of most of these effects).

Anyway, the video below will demonstrate how you can quickly speed-up Windows XP using built-in Windows tools by controlling what programs and visual effects are running in the background. By stopping the programs that have been set to automatically run when Windows is started, you will be freeing up memory back to the Operating System that was being used by these programs. You can still run the programs when you want by clicking its icon.

The video presentation below will outline how to perform the meat of this process.
