Cyberdefender is a load of garbage! I’m in the process of cleaning up an infected PC that Cyberdefender is installed and running on…the owner wen to “DoubleMySpeed” not knowing any better and paid for that crap. After removing it, I scanned the system with legitimate programs and they found a ton of malware. All Cyberdefender was doing was slowing down the PC and cashing in on an unsuspecting user. I warn everybody at work to avoid those sites at all costs because they are scams.

Funny, even my computer said …to down load their crap… “may harm your computer”. The last two scams like this one, [same" cyberdefender corp"] I put on a fresh reload computer to test its claims with no problems or web usage on the computer, and it still showed some 300 “errors” to which the known company “NORTON” Windoctor said the computer was fine, and my Legit AV soft ware keeps showing “no problems”. I have repaired dozens of computers this year that made this mistake, and then using a LEGIT AV company fixed the actual problems [mostly Cybers malware] and yes it costs around the same price, but over all it costs a far less than Cyberdefender because it actually fixes the real problems, including their installation.

Was watching the tube this evening and saw, for the first time, a “Doublemyspeed.com” commercial. I immediately this was a bogus outfit, so I did a search for a review. Read your piece on the Cyberdefender stuff used by Doublemyspeed.com

I do basically all the same pc repair tasks coverred on your price list–and pretty much for the same costs-which are very reasonable. I too spend most of my time removing malware–but I’ve never run into Cyberdefender garbage. So this is good heads-up stuff.

Also, I was impressed with your strong recommendation for Eset Nod32. I run it on my 2 main personal machines, and also recommend it to all my clients.

Anyway, good site. I’m adding it to my bookmarks toolbar.

Since you are so impressed with Cyberdefender, would you please see if you could get a straight answer from Cyberdefender why they are not certified by any of the big independent 3rd party antivirus testing companies? Symantec, ESET, McAfee, Panda, Kaspersky, Computer Associates, Trend Micro all are. Also, why is it they don’t have any enterprise products that businesses use for protecting corporate networks?

Also, I would be interested in the names of the ‘anti-virus’ companies that are 3 friends working out of their home.

With successful advertising of a free trial, it isn’t hard to get a high number of downloads. That has no bearing on the quality of the product.

I also suspect you are an employee of Cyberdefender, because most people who would do so much in-depth homework would have easily found a better product they could have been impressed with. The fact that you say their technology is interesting, is publicly traded, has a high number of downloads, and more than 3 people working there, does not prove anything.

Any reputable PC Technician can prove how ineffective of a product Cyberdefender is. And since you guys just won’t give up, I would question your morals in working for such a questionable company.

My review about Cyberdefender stands pat. It just looks like you are just trying to get backlinks off the comments.

Being a somewhat regular user of the Internet, exposes me and my trusty computer to a whole range of Malware. For me, Malware being some program that is passed on to my computer from a website recently visited. My discovery that I might have a Malware problem happened while doing research and looking at the Internet for business use.

I tried several anti-virus program (not gonna name names right now) and some have worked – to a point. Being free, they have their limits, and overtime I ended up having some bug it couldn’t handle. I read through these papers, and came away very impressed. Cyberdefender has some very interesting and powerful technology behind it, and a growing user base in the millions.

Basically with Cyberdefender, you get 3 components:

1. Cyberdefender – You can scan your computer and clean it; thereby protecting you against the most common and active Malware programs

2. Early Detection Network (EDN) is the Peer2Peer network that consists of all of Cyberdefender’s customers and their central network. When you computer gets a new type of Malware, then it passes on the signature to all the computers in the network, and they are now able to stop and prevent the Malware from infecting any of the computers on the network. Of course, Cyberdefender will then be able to clean this new Malware off your computer. These 3 components of Cyberdefender make it a very strong Anti-Malware package aimed at the casual and non-technical computer users of Desktops and Laptops.

1. They are a Public Traded company on the NASDAQ, which means they have accountability to their shareholders and the public. Many ‘anti-virus’ companies are 3 friends working out of their home. Cyberdefender has the strength to support its programs and business model.
