How to Repair Common Windows Problems with Dial-a-Fix

Dial-a-fix is a free program for repairing a variety of Windows issues such as Windows Update errors, Automatic Updates, SSL, HTTPS, and Cryptography Service problems, COM/ActiveX object errors, missing registry entries and more. Dial-a-fix employs a collection of known fixes drawn from MSKB Articles, Microsoft MVPs, and other important support forums. While Dial-a-Fix was primarily designed for power users, technicians, and administrators, it has been proven safe enough to use without any technical guidance, although some form of guidance is recommended. Dial-a-Fix is supported on the following Windows Operating Systems: Win98, Win98SE, WinMe, Win2000, and WinXP, WinServer 2003 (32 bit). Not all features are available on all Operating Systems, but Dial-a-Fix is most functional with Windows XP.

Dial-a-Fix is a Portable Program and does not need installation. It can even be run from a Flash Drive, just double-click the Dial-a-fix.exe file to open the main page above. Then simply simply check the box for the “Solution” you want to run, and click GO. Dial-a-Fix contains other buttons and tools such as the Policy Scanner. If you hover the mouse over the checkbox, a description box will pop-up. Below is a screenshot of some of the additional “Tools” available when clicking the “Hammer” button.
